About

Meg Kelly is a driven content creator from Austin, Texas. In 2012, she moved to Los Angeles to study Theatre at Loyola Marymount University, where she connected with a group of passionate artists and filmmakers who continue to be her collaborators today.

After completing her degree, Meg devoted two years to studying the Meisner Technique at Playhouse West, refining her craft and performance skills. She then worked as a live comedy producer at Flappers Comedy Club, stage managing hundreds of stand-up shows and gaining invaluable experience in the comedy world.

In 2022, Meg wrote, produced, and starred in the eight-episode comedy web series Jennifer and Chicken, earning the SeriesFest 2023 Best Performance in a Comedy award for her portrayal of the outrageous wannabe-celebrity, Jennifer Marley.

The following year, she produced a second comedy web series, Barden and Sarah Start a Pandemic, taking on the roles of executive producer, director, actor, and editor. Through her hands-on leadership, Barden and Sarah Start A Pandemic became a hit, winning Audience Awards at both SeriesFest 2024 and Austin Film Festival 2024.

This year, Meg launched a new comedy podcast, Horizontal, alongside her childhood best friend and comedian, Mason Smajstrla. On the show, the duo lies down to discuss pop culture and interpret listener-submitted dreams. Meg serves as the producer, host, editor, and social media strategist for this project, continuing to expand her creative repertoire and connect with audiences in fresh, engaging ways.

Most recently, Meg has returned to her hometown of Austin, Texas. She is thrilled to be part of the city’s creative scene, actively collaborating with local filmmakers, comedians, and artists. Excited for what’s next, Meg aims to inspire, entertain, and contribute to the vibrant Texas creative community she calls home.
